I'm trying to paint my bathroom tiles and the adhesive is moment.There on dry wall originally.?
I have taken pictures and have removed all the queue but now the walls are in the state of brown cardboard. There is no document on the drywall, just that brown cardboard. Does you can paint on the sand while or have to use drywall compound across the board in the first place? Or do I have to replace all the drywall, new things with the paper on top. Any help would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
We are remodeling a house right now was built in the years 70 … a lot of wallpaper and wood paneling. When we have eliminated all of us in a mixture of two things: places like you are describing where the paper is have started the old plaster, and places where the drywall seems fine. After a ton of research lines and ask questions, this is what have told us they do … In places where the drywall paper is torn off, exposing the cardboard-like surface, put mud (drywall compound) and then is sanded. In places where there seems to be no harm, we none. But most of all (after the mud was dry and sanded) oil-based primer should be applied. The adhesive that is activated by water, so if you put anything in (or water-based primer) before covering everything with oil primer basis, the water in water-based paint or primer will activate the old glue can end up with a huge sticky mess. Make sure you know how to texture wall. After taking all this and go through this process, you will need to apply the texture (orange peel or fall are fairly easy) or the wall does not look good no matter how much effort you put into it.
