How to become a CAD technician?
I have a diploma in graphic design and photography and no other qualifications, I have looked at autocad courses, but I'm really not sure what would be the best. There are part-time City & Guilds AutoCAD in my local university, but is only one night a week, I'm thinking about asking a local architect and engineering firms to do a bit of experience to get my foot in the door. I am a CAD tech for the DOT in my state, which is essentially civil engineering. If you have a good AutoCAD / Microstation experience I would look at local businesses. Try looking online … There are many jobs to fill a CAD technology that is unreal. Architech businesses are usually difficult to achieve in … but if you have a good record to show, you can only get it. But like I said, check a database online for jobs in your area that need a type CAD, trust me … if there are companies around, are needed. The best of luck to you.
