In the old days one computer monitor was measured and evaluated for image quality. Is it possible to connect DVI-I port on my ATI 3850 DVI-D to my LCD monitor?
There have been many conversations about it. But I'm still not sure. My card ships in a week.
Absolutely. You will need a DVI-D. A DVI-I has 4 extra pins that fit into the HD3850, but not on the LCD screen. The 4 pins are there to provide backward compatibility with analog signals and are therefore unnecessary.
