Photoshop tutorial on using layers for effects.

Graphic design is everywhere around us, and represents a very important part of our lives whether we like it or not. Although some of it could be very open in our minds, much of it runs under our subconscious sensors, and indeed have some effect. Good graphic design is a prerequisite for any business or organization. The truth is that people just do not trust companies with poor graphic design. A cheap looking logo makes the company look cheap. This why so many managers invest heavily in this vital area of presentation. In this article we look at some of the more controversial examples of graphic design.

The London 2012 Olympics logo has caused much controversy since the method disclosed in June 2007. The logo is not well received, especially since it cost 400 thousand pounds to design. For those unfamiliar with the logo, the is an incoherent '2012 ', the fragmentation of the extent to which it is difficult to see the letters. At the top of a design that is not well received, it has a series of colors that are equally controversial. As time went on though some people are more used to the logo – and some people are even warming. It remains a controversial piece of graphic design.

Graphic design can often be controversial, because it is such a familiar part of our lives. It is particularly disturbing for some people if they have a logo or one piece. Another controversial change in the logo relates to the British Airways logo, which was changed in 1997. Besides this change, the tail of the Finnish-BA aircraft with redesigned all ethnic patterns. This was to demonstrate the international nature of British Airways business – it was trying to move away from the idea that an old colonial society, which embraced cultures from around the world.

Eventually the tail Finnish replaced by a stylized version of the new logo, to the delight of many spectators. While the previous tail fin designs were shown visually pleasing, not to mention the national identity that British Airways – as it has been by far the biggest airline in the United Kingdom.

Graphic design has the power to real people, both positive and negative – and arguably, a response is better than no gain.

Gino Hitshopi is highly experienced in the realm of graphic design, having worked in the visual design industry for many years. For more information please visit: http://www.studentgems.com/graphic-design.asp

I write articles in Graphic Design, for students Graphic Design, and I'm stuck on what to write about this week. Is there anyone who can suggest a topic about the graphic design that would be interesting?

What about artists Keith Haring, Andy Warhol and Basquiat? Revitalizing the new with the old influences.

Richard Hammond presents Bloody Omaha (The Graphics)

Poor navigation makes us think. Improved navigation makes us think less. Great navigation is so obvious we do not think.

This is so important Web Usability concept author, Steve Krug, titled his book Do not Make Me Think. That's the bottom line answer to any question about the website navigation.

How many think we do not want to do?

As someone who lives in a cave because the web set, you can online and find out what a site is all about, without help, which is about the right amount of thought.

This is a silly example, but concerns about PageRank and not worry about usability, is a waste of time, effort and finances. Yes, get visitors to the site, but do not sit staring at the page, trying to figure out what to do next, or where to go, or how to find what they want. If the back button to the search results is all that easy to find and use on the page, what you think. That's the button that will be used.

Today, in about ten minutes on the web, I came to two common examples of bad navigation:

  • On the site of a large software company a link that goes like this: Main nav link: PRODUCTS> Sub link: Copy Desk> Sub link: undefined (no link to anything)
  • The site of a national printing: three links to "business cards" in three different navigation bars all on the same page. Only after waiting for all three to do I learn them all to the same place: an order tax forms. None of the three gives me more information.

The solution.

Solutions Navigation problems are not always easy. Large complex sites may have no choice but to offer multiple navigation. Sites with many pages and many links may need additional work these challenges. And then there's been juggling for search engine optimization. Some compromises can be made. Yet keeping the user in mind, clarifying choices and eliminate confusion where possible, not only creates happier site visitors, it offers the bonus of also search engines.

Navigation does our thinking:

  • Multiple navigation with dual or conflicting links.
  • Vague links or links that go nowhere.
  • Current page is not indicated.
  • No navigation page, so using the back button to get out.
  • Active links to the current page.
  • Not directly linked to the name of the object.
  • The navigation structure of the company instead of the division or classification of content and meaningful objectives reflects the user.

Navigation that makes us think:

  • All pages have at least basic site navigation.
  • The navigation displays the current page.
  • Meaning of the link text is clear and each is unique.
  • All links go somewhere special and unique.
  • Items related to product or service offered, not a business organization.
  • Repetitive left, if absolutely necessary, are clearly identified as repetitive.

If something is hard to use it is not used often.

Is there an inexpensive way to create a portfolio of graphic design?

I need something to whip an interview Monday. Please provide links to sites where I can buy cheap temporary cases, or other ways of presenting artwork samples and indicate where I can buy these cases – plastic would be ideal, since the production is low compared

I just bought a cheap one for a class of brothers Aaron – only $ 5. It was a hard plastic cover with a function of covers for each page. I bought size card (since everything was going to be printed smaller), but there were larger. I'd really like to remember what the brand was, but I threw away the label. Just walking and go to his section of the portfolio. Here are some similar (perhaps even the same brand?) Dick Blick online: http://www.dickblick.com/zz150/19/ not know if you can get Monday, however. I have also seen similar presentation folders Office Depot, if you want to try there. Do not look under the binding, there is usually a separate hall for the presentation elements.

Career development needs vary from one profession to another. A nurse and a car driver will follow different paths. But people with similar professions could take on an entirely different path to the development of the other, and yet ultimately achieve the same goals.

A good question to remember when assessing what you need to develop a career asking what they already know, this is a critical question and one person can point to the right career direction. For students with a remarkable interest and talent in the arts, may opt for a career that exploit their capabilities such as graphic and logo design.

A student or a professional who would doodle and draw, and has much knowledge of operating computer-generated graphic design programs would like the world of graphic design to introduce large and small businesses. He needs a moment to make a list of what he wants to achieve and learn and to specify what are its long term and short term goals. How does he know about graphic design? Can he handle the demands of the job? He has worked for a client? How much does he earn? What programs and software is capable of handling it? How far and in what branch of the graphic design he wants to pursue? Would he design logos and posters alone, or he can go to animation and design magazine? These are just some of the questions he must ask and answer.

The next step in career development is to determine its readiness to enter the field of graphic design. Can he start Now, whether he has to learn in college? What kind of programs does he know? If he wants to continue learning at a university, while at work? Is it equipped to dealing with the professional side of graphic design or does he need to learn?

An important part of the evaluation of career development is when more education is necessary for a career progression. Although not necessary, it can be of great help especially if you want to keep the rapidly changing times and technology. Career can be an advantage if you or the company wants to make money.

A professional organization to obtain a good job must learn how to write a good CV and relevant. His / her skills should be listed in a way that compliments the job he / she applies for. An employer who need a secretary does not know how well you your house, what he wants to know if the applicant is good at organizing and keeping records.

Career development does not stop at the beginning of a new career. It is a continuous learning process and there is always room for improvement in both the employer and the employee side. An employee career development needs vary from time to time. It may change little or big ones when they choose a new career. The decision lies in the individual.

In the field of commercial design, inspiration is provided by the customer. Who are they, what they do, who they serve … and more importantly what they need to carry out the design, feeling what they want to evoke in the viewer. It's an exciting challenge. On a personal level, inspiration is everywhere. I was driving home from a client yesterday, and saw a chair just outside a small garage and old that caught my attention – I went back and photographed it. What moves you – the best part of art is that there are no rules.
